What happens if I choose countersink diameter too large or too small?
Too large: 1. Higher cutting force and vibration; 2. The tool center does not cut on small chamfers, leaving a small pip; 3. Wasteful. Too small: 1. Chamfer incomplete, requiring multiple passes; 2. Faster wear. Rule of thumb: countersink diameter = countersunk hole size x 1.5, or pilot hole + 2 x chamfer depth x tan(angle/2). Lihao Technology can help with selection.
