Why deburr sheet metal parts? Dangers of burrs?

Deburring is critical in sheet metal work - burrs are dangerous: 1. Safety: burrs at hole edges and part edges easily cut operators' hands, sometimes deeply; burrs inside electrical cabinets can cut wire insulation and cause shorts; loose burrs can cause mechanical failures. 2. Assembly quality: burrs at countersunk holes stop screw heads seating fully - screws will not tighten and loosen easily; burrs reduce part fit accuracy and prevent proper assembly; holes with burrs are hard to insert screws or pins into, slowing assembly. 3. Appearance: burrs at edges and holes hurt product quality perception - customers see burrs as poor quality; coating over burrs is uneven and peels; many customers check for burrs during factory audits - burrs can fail the audit. 4. Downstream processes: burrs affect plating, anodizing and painting - coverage is uneven at burrs; burrs can fall off later and scratch other parts; they add rework cost. 5.
