What is the custom countersink process? How long does it take?
Custom countersink process: 1) Requirements - tell us material, angle, size, shank, flutes, grade, coating, special needs (piloted, extended, reduced shank, through-coolant); drawings or samples help; 2) Design - our engineers design the tool and confirm dimensions, material, coating, price, lead time; 3) Quote and order - formal quote, confirm, pay deposit (typically 30%-50%); 4) Production - cutting, rough grinding, finish grinding, coating, inspection; 5) Quality check - dimensions, angle, hardness, runout, appearance; 6) Shipment - ship after inspection; balance before shipping or COD for repeat customers. Lead times: 1) simple customs (size/angle/shank changes) - 3-5 working days; 2) medium (special shape, piloted, extended, reduced shank) - 5-10 working days; 3) complex (carbide, through-coolant, special coating, complex shape) - 10-20 working days; 4) urgent - rush available at +20%-50%, ask customer service. Notes: 1) custom products cannot be returned/exchanged (except quality issues) - confirm parameters before ordering; 2) provide accurate parameters or drawings to avoid mistakes; 3) one sample first to confirm, then batch; 4) volume custom pricing is better. We have professional design and production teams with rich custom experience - fast response.
