Can countersinks deburr cross holes? How to deburr intersecting holes? Cross holes (two intersecting holes) are hard to deburr: ordinary countersinks only reach the outer mouth; the internal intersection burrs are unreachable. Methods: 1) Countersink + hand work - outer mouth burrs with a countersink; internal intersection burrs with a long-handled scraper or a dedicated cross-hole scraper; 2) Abrasive flow deburring - high-pressure abrasive fluid flows in one hole and out the other, flushing the intersection: effective but costly: good for batches; 3) Electrolytic deburring - an electrode enters the hole and electrochemically dissolves intersection burrs: high precision; 4) Thermal energy deburring - high-temperature combustion removes burrs: works on complex parts but has heat effects; 5) Dedicated cross-hole chamfer tools - specially designed long, flexible chamfer tools that reach the intersection: limited effect. Recommendation: small quantities - countersink + hand scraper; batches - abrasive flow or electrolytic. Cross-hole burrs MUST be removed - they affect assembly and use.
