Manual chamfer tools suit small quantities, on-site repairs and situations where a machine is not available - cheap but slow with poor consistency; machine chamfer tools (countersinks) suit batch production with high efficiency, consistency and finish. Factories use machine countersinks for production; a manual tool is fine for the occasional burr touch-up.
