Machined chamfer has tool marks, not smooth - how to fix?

Tool marks and rough chamfer surfaces - causes and fixes: 1) Speed too low - marks are more visible; raise speed moderately (but not for stainless); 2) Feed too high - coarse marks; reduce to 0.05-0.15mm/rev; 3) Dull tool - rough surface; regrind or replace; 4) Excessive runout - mis-clamped shank or spindle runout leaves marks; check clamping and spindle accuracy; 5) Loose workpiece - wobble ruins the finish; clamp firmly; 6) Cutting fluid - full cooling and lubrication give a cleaner surface; 7) Final skim pass - after reaching size, take a light spring pass without feed for a better finish.
