Can countersinks machine hardened steel? What tool for hard materials?

Standard HSS countersinks are not suitable for hardened steel (HRC40+); they lack hardness, wear fast and chip easily. For hardened and high-hardness materials: 1) Carbide countersinks - HRC90+ hardness, very wear-resistant, for HRC40-60 hardened steel, mold steel and superalloys; 2) Cobalt HSS (HSS-E) - HRC65-67, handles HRC35-45 pre-hardened and quenched-and-tempered steel with great value; 3) Coated carbide - TiAlN or AlCrN for ultra-hard materials above HRC50. Note: on hard materials use lower speed (200-500rpm), lighter feed (0.03-0.08mm/rev) and plenty of cutting fluid to avoid chipping.
