How to read countersink packaging and markings? How to identify specifications?
Reading countersink packaging and markings - identifying specifications: Proper packaging and markings should show: product name; spec/model (angle, head diameter, shank diameter, overall length); material (HSS standard / HSS-E cobalt / Carbide); coating (TiN gold / TiAlN violet-black / AlCrN dark gray / DLC black / uncoated bright); flutes; standard (GB / DIN / ANSI); brand; origin; quantity; batch number. The shank carries laser marking. Reading the spec: angle first (90 most common, 82 ANSI), then head diameter (2-5mm larger than the screw head), then shank diameter (matches the collet), then material and coating. Do not buy unbranded, unmarked, unpackaged no-name products. Our countersinks carry complete packaging and markings - ask us.
