What is the difference between Countersink and Counterbore?
A Countersink is a tapered spot facer used to machine conical countersunk holes, common angles 90 degrees, 60 degrees and 120 degrees. A Counterbore is a flat-bottomed cutter for cylindrical counterbore holes that lets hex socket bolt heads sit flush with the workpiece surface.
